The Urban Memory Foundation works to bring the memory and heritage of Breslau Jews closer to the minds and hearts of a variety of audiences, especially to the citizens of Wrocław.

In 2021 Urban Memory Foundation is launching its first project – Places of Remembering and Forgetting – planned in two cities, Wrocław and Kraków, for two places marked by difficult history and memory. Currently, the foundation is recruiting local volunteers - switch to Polish version of the webpage for more information.

Together with partner organization FestivALT, the Urban Memory Foundation will employ the mechanisms of civic engagement and will work through tensions around the revitalization and commemoration of two sites in Poland – the former Jewish cemetery on Gwarna Street in Wrocław and the former Nazi concentration camp in Płaszów, Kraków.
