Codingame Spring Challenge 2023 is over. The competition involves programming bots to play a game prepared by the organizers. Our students and staff participating in these competitions have already accustomed us to successful starts, but this time we achieved the greatest success in the history of the competition.

As usually, University of Wrocław team took the first place among universities. However, this time two individuals from the University of Wroclaw (UWr) stood on the podium: Marek Szykuła won the entire competition individually, and Dominik Kowalczyk took second place. The entire UWr representation (consisting of the top 5 participants studying or working at UWr) made it into the overall top 30. Besides the medalists, the representation also included Jakub Kowalski (#16), Marcin Wróbel (#24), and Dawid Skowronek (#30). In the top league of 95 participants, Olaf Surgut (#61), Krzysztof Łukasiewicz (#70), and Daniel Górski (#83) also made it. A total of 68 individuals with affiliation to UWr participated. Students had the opportunity to earn points in the subject of Artificial Intelligence for their good performance.

The competition lasted for 10 days, from May 25th to June 5th. It attracted 5,290 programmers from around the world, representing as many as 218 universities. For those interested in testing their skills, they can write their own bot and see how it performs on the competition's website.
