Success in CodinGame Fall Challenge 2024
Autumn has arrived, which means - as always when the season changes - it's time to announce the victory of our AI4Games experts: UWr ranked first in the university classification of the CodinGame Fall Challenge 2024
In short:
3970 participants, 154 companies, 129 universities
51 people actively participating from UWr in the university classification
Top 5 of our team and their positions in the individual ranking:
- #1 Marek Szykuła (UWr staff member and graduate)
- #2 Jakub Kowalski (UWr staff member and graduate)
- #10 Marcin Wróbel (UWr student)
- #19 Daniel Górski (Staff Software Engineer at KartGIS, recently a PhD student at UWr)
- #32 Dawid Skowronek (UWr student)
The task was not a bot game, but an optimization problem, where for given test sets, the goal was to find the highest-scoring solution. The storyline of the task concerned a city on the Moon and the construction of an efficient transportation network for astronauts: from shuttle landing pads to the modules where they work.
Participation in the competition could earn points within the course "Artificial Intelligence 2: Games," conducted by Jakub Kowalski.
The game is also available after the competition - anyone can try it and see how they compare with the competition participants.
